Forensic Studies Program Description
This proposal will expound upon Loyola’s minor in Forensic Studies by giving students the opportunity to explore the ideas, concepts, and technology behind criminal investigations, homeland security, and counterterrorism.&nbsp; The overarching plan was to devise a curriculum to address the need to educate professionals that prepared them for the growing demand among the public, private, and nonprofit organizations across the country that actively seek employees with forensic studies training. <br> <br>Loyola University of Maryland has a unique interdisciplinary approach to the major that explicates traditional forensic programs by adding a strong emphasis on the humanities in addition to the expected biology and chemistry courses. Curriculum from the existing Forensic Science minor and existing majors from the Division of Natural and Applied Sciences will populate the curriculum and will include coursework in forensic entomology, security ethics, and business intelligence, law, bioterrorism, political economy, forensic history, digital image,&nbsp; and data mining to name a few. <br>
