Rae Oliveira

Rae Oliveira is a paramedic and registered nurse with over 35 years of emergency medical services experience. She has been an instructor for over 30 years. She holds Maryland State Instructor, National Association of Emergency Medical Services Educator, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support American Heart Association instructor credentials. She has taught entry level Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic programs, and continuing education for nursing and prehospital clinicians. She has a leadership and education focused Masters of Nursing degree.

She retired as an Emergency Medical Services Battalion Chief from Howard County, Maryland in 2009. She worked as a Critical Care Transport Nurse with LifeStar Response of Maryland until 2016. She worked at the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services (MIEMSS) and served as the Director of the Office of Licensure and Certification until 2017. She was the ALS Program Coordinator at Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, Maryland until 2023.

Rae is currently the Division Chief of Training at Harford County Department of Emergency Services, Maryland. The Division oversees the credentialing and continuing education of the EMS and Communications personnel.
