Coastal Engineering Program Description
With only a few academic programs across the nation, the demand for coastal engineers is projected to grow faster than average. Salisbury University is perfectly positioned to lead
Maryland’s education of coastal engineers. The proposed Coast Engineering B.S. curriculum includes foundational courses in mathematics, physics, and earth sciences, as well as specialized
courses in coastal engineering. Situated within the Department of Physics, the program leverages the University's expansive expertise in geosciences, geographic information systems, physics, and engineering, while also drawing on the regional and geographic distinction of coastal Maryland.
The B.S. in Coastal Engineering provides students the fundamentals to adequately prepare for the National Council of Examiners for Engineering. Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, which is a prerequisite for engineering licensure.
