Coppin State University is proposing a substantial modification to the existing Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) to include a new Area of Concentration (AoC) in Early Childhood Education. Below is a brief program description: <br> <br>Upon completing the program, candidates will be able to: <br>1. Demonstrate Developmental Expertise: Articulate key principles of early childhood development and apply them to plan, implement, and assess learning experiences that support the holistic development of young children. (ISLO #2: Analytical Reasoning) <br> <br>2. Design and Deliver Effective Instruction: Develop and deliver lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate, culturally relevant, and differentiated to meet the needs of <br>diverse learners in an urban early childhood setting. Engage in Culturally Responsive Practice: Identify and implement strategies for fostering inclusivity and cultural awareness in the classroom, demonstrating an understanding of how cultural contexts impact learning.
