Cecil College is proposing a new AoC in Associate of Fine Arts (A.F.A.) in Art Education. This program will provides foundational coursework equivalent to the first two years of a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program. This intensive, studio-based curriculum emphasizes the development of technical skills, creative expression, and critical thinking. Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to: <br> <br>1. Use visual problem solving and creative thinking skills to make works of art. <br> <br>2. Proficiently work with a range of art media and techniques. <br> <br>3. Professionally document and exhibit a body of work that demonstrates artistic voice, concept development, and technical skill. <br> <br>4. Set and define career goals using professional practices in art and design. <br> <br>5. Interpret visual art in its cultural context. <br> <br>6. Proficiently work with a wide range of art materials, tools, and techniques to create work from concept to finished product. <br> <br>7. Design and deliver an art lesson plan, demonstrating effective preparation, instruction, and classroom engagement. <br> <br>8. Apply the elements and principles of design to communicate aesthetic and conceptual intent. <br> <br>9. Professionally document a body of work that demonstrates artistic voice, concept, and technical skills. |
