The Fallen Transportation Workers Scholarship Program provides tuition assistance to a student who was a dependent or is the surviving spouse of a fallen transportation worker.

• Applicants should apply to thier institution by July 15 of each year. ​
  

• Applicants may be eligible if they:

• ​ Are enrolled in a regular undergraduate, graduate, or professional program at an eligible institution at full time or part time enrollment
•  Are enrolled in a 2-year terminal certificate program in which the course work is acceptable for transfer credit for an accredited baccalaureate program in an eligible institution
• Are enrolled in a private career school
• Are at least 16 years old
• You must also qualify under at least one of the following conditions:
• The child, stepchild, or surviving spouse of a fallen transportation worker
  
  

An award applicant is eligible to receive an award contingent on the availability of funds.

• The max award for 2026-2027 has not yet been determined.
• The amount of your award may not exceed the equivalent annual tuition and mandatory fees, of a resident undergraduate at a four-year public institution of higher education within the University System of Maryland, other than the University of Maryland University College and the University of Maryland, Baltimore, with the highest annual expenses for a full-time resident undergraduate; and 
  
• Be less than the less of $3,000, or 
  
• The equivalent annual tuition and mandatory fees of a resident of the institution attended by the recipient of the scholarship.
