General Studies w/ Area of Concentration (A.o.C.) in Social Sciences Program Description
The General Studies Area of Concentration in Social Sciences is designed to prepare graduates for transfer to liberal arts and related programs at the bachelor’s degree level. The program is built on and reinforces fundamental skills, including writing, oral communications, and quantitative skills obtained through general education coursework. Students will be exposed to concepts and experiences necessary for success in the workplace, further education, and life-long learning. Throughout the curriculum, students will be presented with a wide range of instructional methods and experiences that provide exposure to a solid foundation of the diverse nature of liberal arts careers. The specific curriculum includes coursework in social science related courses in preparation for student transfer.
