Out-of-State Renewal Application Program Description
Chamberlain University (Chamberlain) has submitted a renewal application to continue to offer <br>its previously approved program with clinical sites in Maryland. Chamberlain will not have a <br>physical location in Maryland. The proposed program is offered on-site at the Arlington, <br>Virginia campus. Chamberlain is seeking continued approval to allow students from the <br>Arlington campus to participate in clinical experiences in Maryland. Chamberlain is a SARA <br>institution; however, the University typically places over 600 students in Maryland annually. <br>Chamberlain is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association <br>and holds specialized accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education <br>(CCNE). Chamberlain is a private-for-profit institution based out of Illinois registered as a <br>foreign corporation in Maryland, and is in good standing. As a for-profit institution operating in <br>Maryland, Chamberlain has the financial guarantees as required by COMAR 13B.02.06. <br>Chamberlain&amp;#39;s application for renewal requested extended approval for five years. Per COMAR <br>13B.02.01.08C, &amp;quot;C. Procedures to Apply for Approval for Extended Operation in Maryland. (1) <br>During or after the fifth year of operation in Maryland and during any subsequent renewal cycle, <br>an out-of-State institution may apply for approval to operate in Maryland for an extended period <br>of time up to 5 years.&amp;quot; Chamberlain&amp;#39;s initial approval was issued in June 2014, making <br>Chamberlain University eligible for extended to operate in Maryland.
