Interior Design Pre-professional Program Description
Montgomery College is prepared to offer the revised kitchen and bath design area of concentration, interior design-preprofessional associate of applied science (kitchen and <br>bath design A.A.S.) in fall 2023. The 60-credit curriculum prepares students for entry-level positions in interior design and related professions with a concentration on kitchen and bath design. Emphasis is placed on the creative application of design principles, addressing environmental and human health and well-being, employing the design process, and developing effective visual communication and technical skills. Some <br>students choose to continue their studies and have successfully transferred to four-year institutions with resulting portfolio. The program is designed for individuals intending to enter a career in an entry-level assistantship position or for students currently employed in unrelated careers intending to make a significant career change. As a National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA)-affiliated school, students who complete this <br>program are uniquely qualified to apply to take the NKBA certification examinations.
