BioStatistics Program Description |
The University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) proposes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biostatistics. Biostatistics, one of the core disciplines in public health, teaches students analytical methods for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting scientific data collected in public health and medical research. This new doctoral program will address critical needs in public health, biomedical research, and policy analysis through advanced statistical training. This program will be offered by the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Public Health and will prepare students for leadership roles as biostatisticians, researchers, and educators. The program will emphasize research excellence, innovation in statistical methodologies, and interdisciplinary collaboration, equipping graduates to address complex health challenges locally and globally. |
