Social Work Program Description
The proposed Associate of Arts in Social Work has been designed in correspondence with transfer partners at Salisbury University and University of Maryland Baltimore County. The agreed curriculum provides CCBC students with seamless transfer into the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at each of these respective institutions. There is a notable lack of existing associate degree programs in social work in Maryland. Existing bachelor&#39;s degree programs have very specific transfer equivalencies. The program will be available on-campus and fully online; providing a fully online completion pathway through to the BSW, for students transferring to Salisbury <br>University. Currently, CCBC students wishing to transfer into social work earn either an Associate of Arts in General Studies or the Associate of Applied Science in Human Services Counseling. Because of the high regard that CCBC&#39;s Human Services program receives, many of the courses within the Human Services Counseling program do currently transfer as social work program requirements. However, the Associate of Arts in Social Work provides a more appropriate and fully articulated transfer curriculum to Salisbury University and University of Maryland Baltimore County (see section H).
