Applied Data Science Program Description |
As with other workforce-oriented graduate programs in the region focusing on the data science discipline, students completing the core M.S. in Applied Data Science curriculum will be expected to: <br> <br>a. Successfully demonstrate knowledge of interdisciplinary data science principles, practices, theories, operational insights, industry organizations, and technologies associated with data science. (SLO-1) <br> <br>b. Effectively identify and analyze data, apply statistical and machine learning techniques, and make data-driven decisions. (SLO-2) <br> <br>c. Understand the role of data science within modern organizations and appreciate its assorted social/legal/policy/ethical issues. (SLO-3) <br> <br>d. Demonstrate the ability to conduct scholarly and/or professional-level research and the various skills necessary in the data science profession such as team collaboration, critical thinking, time management, and effective communication. <br>(SLO-4) |
