Maryland Institute College of Art

The Maryland Institute College of Art is the oldest independent degree-granting, fully accredited art college in the nation. Faculty include accomplished artists, designers, writers, and art historians. The residential campus includes well-equipped and spacious studios, gallery spaces, and digital art labs. Undergraduate students can earn a B.F.A. degree in art history, drawing, painting, printmaking, general fine arts, interdisciplinary sculpture, ceramics, fiber, photography, graphic design, illustration, video, interactive media, experimental animation or environmental design. A five-year B.F.A./M.A. in Teaching program is also available. M.F.A. programs are offered in painting, photography, and electronic media, sculpture and graphic design. Summer low-residency programs include an M.F.A. in Studio Art, a Master in Art Education and a Masters in Community Arts. MICA also offers a one-year Post-baccalaureate certificate in studio art. Additional programs are offered in Canada, England, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, New York, Poland, Spain, Scotland, Turkey, Jamaica, Czech Republic, Israel, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, and Denmark.
