Student-to-Student Statewide Opioid Awareness Events

MHEC Secretary Dr. James D. Fielder was proud to organize and be involved in a series of college and university opioid outreach events focused on he dangers of fentanyl, how to administer naloxone, and Maryland’s Good Samaritan law.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Cecil College, Hagerstown Community College and the University of Baltimore hosted events on their campuses throughout the month of September, which was funded by MHEC’s $200,000 Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) grant.

Through various posters and flyers,w e explain that MHEC awards money for them to attend college, now we want to provide important information. Through this venue, we are able to share health information from BHA while promoting MHEC’s outstanding products and services.

We are proud to have the opportunity to promote this critical mission supported by the Hogan administration, the Maryland Opioid Operational Command Center, and the Department of Health- Behavioral Health Administration.
