Cassie Motz

Ms. Motz is the Executive Director of the CollegeBound Foundation, which helps Baltimore City public school students realize their dreams of a college
education.  Students in CollegeBound's College Completion Program -- all Pell Grant recipients -- graduate from college at a 75% rate, exceeding the statewide public college graduation rate.

Prior to joining CollegeBound almost ten years ago, Ms. Motz served as a Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Martin O’Malley. She also served as a Deputy Legal Counsel to Governor O’Malley and as the Interim Director of the Governor’s Office for Children. Earlier in her career as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C., Ms. Motz prosecuted homicide and domestic violence cases and argued appellate cases in federal and local courts. She later served as a Deputy Attorney General for the District of Columbia government, representing the city’s child welfare and mental health agencies.  Between college and law school, Ms. Motz taught at a public middle school in the South Bronx, New York, through Teach for America.

A Baltimore City native and resident, Ms. Motz graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in history and earned a J.D.
from Yale Law School.​
