Smart Save Program

Whether you plan to attend a two-year or a four-year college, this Maryland Higher Education Commission SmartSAVE page offers you a list of scholarships and grants to assist you in obtaining your higher education goals.

Maryland is fortunate to have 56 colleges and universities from which to choose and preparation is the key to ensuring your dream of going to college is realized.

Grants, Scholarships and Loan Assistance Repayment Programs

Both grants and scholarships are money that students are given for their college education. There is no requirement for the student to pay back the money.

Below are the financial assistance resources currently available to Maryland students attending a Maryland institution:

Additional resources include the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Maryland 529 Programs.
